Out of Hours Service please call NHS 111
If you require a doctor urgently out-of-hours you should contact NHS 111. Staff are trained to direct you to the
appropriate service for your condition.
The Out of Hours service is provided by Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Ashton, Leigh & Wigan Division:
The Out of Hours Medical Service, Claire House, Phoenix Way, Wigan WN3 4NW.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you
genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness
of breath constitute an emergency

You can see an experienced nurse for treatment of minor injuries, minor illnesses, eg: sprains, cuts, colds, sore throats, earache, urine infection and emergency Contraception. 7 days a week between 7.00am and 9.00pm.
Local pharmacists are able to give you free health advice, no appointment needed. Some pharmacists are also able to treat minor illnesses, eg cough colds.

Whatever the day or time, if you or someone experiences severe chest pain, loss of blood or suspected broken bones, go to your nearest A&E.
